Whiskey River Saloon DJ Position

The Whiskey River Saloon is seeking a talented, energetic, and entertaining house DJ to draw and entertain crowds at our high volume, entertainment venue on Broadway. Additional gigs will also be worked at our sister bar, the Lucky Bastard Saloon.

This position requires a dynamic and talented DJ to elevate the entertainment experience at our venues. As a DJ, you will play a crucial role in creating an engaging and energetic atmosphere that delights our guests and enhances their overall experience. You must be passionate about music, skilled in mixing and blending tracks across various genres, and possess an innate ability to read the crowd and adjust the set accordingly to keep the energy high. This position demands creativity, technical proficiency with DJ equipment and software, and excellent interpersonal skills to interact with guests and venue staff effectively. You will collaborate closely with event coordinators and management to tailor playlists and performances that complement different occasions, from lively weekend parties to intimate gatherings. This position requires you to thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy connecting with diverse audiences, and have a strong commitment to delivering memorable entertainment. This position is expected to be full-time, normally averaging 32-40 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Curate and perform engaging music sets tailored to the venue's audience and event type.
• Operate DJ equipment such as turntables, mixers, and digital software to mix music tracks seamlessly.
• Monitor sound levels and adjust audio settings to ensure optimal sound quality and guest experience.
• Collaborate with event planners and venue management to understand specific entertainment requirements.
• Read the crowd and respond dynamically to maintain high energy and guest enjoyment throughout events.
• Maintain and troubleshoot DJ equipment to ensure continuous performance without technical issues.
• Stay updated with current music trends and incorporate fresh tracks to keep the playlist exciting and relevant.

Qualifications & Skills

• Proven experience as a DJ in a hospitality or entertainment setting.
• Proficiency with DJ equipment including turntables, mixers, controllers, and software like Serato or Traktor.
• Strong knowledge of various music genres and ability to adapt sets to different audiences.
• Excellent sense of timing, rhythm, and the ability to mix tracks seamlessly.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with guests and staff.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
