A Sr. self-directed electrical estimator to independently develop and manage estimates for complex transportation projects, generally valued at $1M + with strong knowledge of field installation, union labor, cost code structures, vendor pricing and Trimble Accubid software with possible hybrid remote arrangement

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare estimates for airport, light rail, transit and infrastructure projects
• Perform detailed takeoffs and build estimates in Trimble Accubid
• Price Union labor using correct rates, labor units, burdens, crew assumptions, OT and productivity factors
• Structure estimates by cost code so awarded work can be tracked against budget and actual field performance
• Solicit level, and validate vendor and subcontractor quotations
• Review drawings, specs, schedules, phasing and bid requirements
• Prepare bid clarifications, assumptions, exclusions and estimate turnover documentation
• Visit project sites to verify existing conditions, quantities, constructability, access, demolition, and installation requirements.

REQUIREMENTS

• 7 years demonstrated Estimating experience for construction projects over $1Million
• Strong "transportation industry" experienced especially airports and light rail
• Strong working knowledge with Trimble Accubid
• Experience with Union electrical construction projects
• Ability to read plans, specs, one-lines, details and contract documents
• Strong field awareness and ability to verify conditions in person
• Past working relationships with major contractors such as L.K. Comstock, Stacy Witbeck, Archer Western or comparable large transportation/infrastructure contractors.
• Past working relationships with major electrical suppliers such as Crawford Electric Supply, Parrish-Hare Electrical Supply and Lonestar Electric Supply or comparable vendors
• Experience in active aviation, rail or transit environments where access, phasing, schedule and safety materially affect labor productivity.
• A self-starter moving estimates forward with limited supervision
