You will provide technical support for NIH-funded studies investigating how metabolic dysfunction promotes prostate cancer progression through methylglyoxal-mediated DNA damage. You will be responsible for executing laboratory experiments and maintaining day-to-day research operations in a collaborative translational research environment.As a successful candidate you will:· Perform mammalian cell culture, including maintenance of prostate cancer cell lines and primary cultures.· Conduct molecular biology, biochemistry, and cell biology experiments, including Western blotting, qPCR, immunofluorescence, flow cytometry, and ELISA.· Assist with mouse studies, including tissue collection, sample processing, and record keeping.· Prepare samples for histology, immunohistochemistry, microscopy, and LC-MS/MS analyses.· Maintain laboratory inventories, prepare reagents, order supplies, and ensure laboratory organization and compliance.· Accurately document experiments, analyze data, and maintain electronic laboratory notebooks.· Participate in laboratory meetings and contribute to troubleshooting and protocol optimization.· Assist with preparation of figures, reports, and manuscripts.· Perform general laboratory duties such as stocking supplies and perform routine analysis of samples.QualificationsYour qualifications should include:· Bachelor’s degree in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related field with 0-2 years of research/laboratory experience· Experience with mammalian cell culture and standard molecular biology techniques preferred.· Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.City of Hope employees pay is based on the following criteria: work experience, qualifications, and work location.City of Hope is an equal opportunity employer.To learn more about our Comprehensive Benefits, please CLICK HERE.Job Field: ResearchShift: Days
