Compensation & Premium Incentives

  • Base Salary Range: $38.00 - $62.74 per hour (Determined case-by-case based on experience, education, and certifications).
  • Sign-On Bonus: Competitive signing incentives available (Eligibility determined at time of offer).
  • Shift Differentials: Premium pay rates applied directly to evening and overnight hours.

Team Impact

As an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN), you'll provide comprehensive care for critically ill patients requiring advanced monitoring, complex interventions, and life-sustaining therapies. Working in a collaborative critical care environment with a 2:1 patient-to-nurse ratio, you'll partner closely with intensivists, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and fellow critical care nurses to deliver evidence-based care during some of each patient's most critical moments.

As an RN, you hold primary accountability for organizing, managing, and delivering comprehensive nursing care to your assigned group of patients within the scope of the New York State Nurse Practice Act. In this role, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualized care plans.
  • Coordinate care with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members to promote positive clinical outcomes and seamless transitions of care.
  • Monitor patient conditions, implement appropriate interventions, and adjust care plans based on changing needs and treatment goals.
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, self-care, and discharge instructions.
  • Utilize electronic health record systems to document care accurately and maintain compliance with organizational standards.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, communicate effectively with team members, and ensure safe patient handoffs.
  • Delegate and supervise nursing support staff appropriately while maintaining accountability for patient care delivery.
  • Support a culture of safety, teamwork, quality improvement, and professional excellence through active participation in unit and organizational initiatives.

What You Bring (Qualifications)

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Registered Professional Nursing Program.

    • Note: BSN preferred. Associate degree hires must complete their BSN within 5 years (RNs with 20+ years of experience can substitute an advanced certification for the BSN requirement).
  • Licensure: Active, unrestricted New York State (NYS) RN License.
  • Certifications :

    • BLS Certification : Active Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (or obtained at time of hire)

      • CIT / De-escalation Training : Specialized training in hospital-approved verbal crisis intervention techniques. (Required upon hire/orientation for Behavioral Health, Emergency Department, and Crisis Services units).
      • Unit-Specific Certifications (Depending on your assigned department, the following are required to be maintained throughout employment):
      • ACLS Certification : Required before the completion of clinical orientation if assigned to: Critical Care, Emergency Department, PACU, Snuggery, Cardiovascular Lab, Interventional Radiology, GI Center, or Urgent Care.
      • PALS Certification : Required before the completion of clinical orientation if assigned to: Emergency Department or PACU.
      • Stroke Certification Education : Required upon hire and annually if assigned to: Emergency Department, Critical Care, or Tower 6 Telemetry/Neuroscience Unit.
  • Skills & Competencies:

    • Excellent clinical judgment, rapid problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to remain calm and effective during medical emergencies
    • Ability to recognize patient care problems and to react appropriately in patient care emergencies
    • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing with other nursing personnel, patients, and physicians
    • Ability to complete basic mathematical calculations
    • Strong working knowledge of standard healthcare reporting and quality measures
