Job Description

Leasing Consultant

We are looking for a Leasing Consultant for our Elwood Apartment Homes location. This Shakopee, MN community features 288 apartment homes across 12 residential buildings and one clubhouse building that houses the leasing office. As the Leasing Consultant, you are responsible for leasing, assisting with the marketing of the apartment community, and maintaining positive resident and prospect relationships while delivering an exceptional customer experience. This position requires frequent movement throughout the community, including travel between multiple residential buildings and the clubhouse. Please note that all residential buildings are walk-up access only; there are no elevators. The role also includes frequent outdoor exposure in various weather conditions while conducting community tours, inspecting the property, and supporting day-to-day operations.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 9AM - 6PM and Saturday 10AM - 4PM; one day off during the week (schedule is subject to change based on business needs)

Responsibilities: (include, but are not limited to)

  • Greet prospects and assists them with their questions and paperwork
  • Tour the property and target apartments/model
  • Update apartment availability reports as needed
  • Process paperwork including: leases, renewals and other related documents
  • Listen to all resident requests, complaints, and comments
  • Collaborate in planning and hosting resident functions
  • Participate in obtaining and/or distributing marketing information

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, some college-level education preferred
  • 1+ years in a sales oriented role. 6+ months of on-site leasing experience or a combination of customer service and sales experience and education
  • Possesses superior sales ability
  • Computer proficiency, including MS Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • YARDI / CRM IQ experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Fair Housing regulations
  • Valid driver's license required

Physical Demands: This role requires walking the community for extended periods, including conducting apartment tours, inspecting buildings, and supporting daily operations. The position involves frequent travel between 12 residential buildings and one clubhouse building. Employees must climb and descend stairs multiple times daily, as the walk-up residential buildings lack elevators. Employees are required to work outdoors for extended periods in various weather conditions and occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds. The position also involves standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and repetitive hand/wrist motion associated with regular computer and office equipment use. Employees must maintain a professional appearance and safely navigate all areas of the community while providing exceptional customer service to residents and prospective residents.
