Position Overview High School English Tutor – Upper Manhattan & The Bronx, NY Prep Academy Tutors of Upper Manhattan & The Bronx is seeking dedicated, enthusiastic, and compassionate High School Tutors to support students in grades 9–12 . Our tutors provide personalized, one-on-one instruction that helps young learners build strong academic foundations, develop confidence, and achieve meaningful progress. Our Upper Manhattan & The Bronx division is committed to providing families with exceptional, relationship-focused educational support tailored to each student's unique needs. Key Responsibilities Provide one-on-one tutoring for high school students (Grades 9–12) Support foundational skills in Reading, Writing, Spelling, and other English topics Assist students with homework completion, study habits, and organizational skills Develop individualized learning plans based on student needs and goals Monitor student progress and communicate regularly with families Create a positive, engaging, and encouraging learning environment Travel to students' homes throughout Upper Manhattan and/or The Bronx Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree or teaching certification preferred Experience teaching or tutoring high school-aged students Strong understanding of high school curriculum and instructional strategies Ability to engage young learners and differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills Reliable transportation for in-person tutoring assignments Authorized to work in the United States What We Offer Competitive hourly compensation Flexible scheduling Ongoing professional support and mentorship Meaningful, long-term relationships with students and families Opportunity to make a lasting impact on student success Schedule & Availability Tutors create schedules based on their availability and student demand.
