Summary Lewisburg Area High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate English Teacher to join our vibrant educational community. Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with state standards and promote student learning in reading, writing, and critical analysis. Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration. Assess and evaluate student performance through various methods, including tests, essays, and projects, providing constructive feedback to enhance their skills. Foster a love for reading by introducing students to a diverse range of literary works and genres. Organize and supervise extracurricular activities related to English language and literature, such as writing clubs, book fairs, and literary competitions. Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and integrate technology into the curriculum. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and any concerns. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and trends in English education. Uphold school policies and contribute to a positive school culture. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field. Valid teaching certification in English for secondary education. Proven experience teaching English at the high school level, with a strong understanding of curriculum development and instructional strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively. Knowledge of diverse literary works and a passion for fostering a love of reading and writing in students. Commitment to professional growth and collaboration with colleagues in a team-oriented environment.
