Kaufman Dolowich LLP is seeking a talented and driven Employment Litigation Attorney with 5+ years of experience to join our growing Employment Practices Group in San Fransisco, California. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative and entrepreneurial team within a nationally recognized law firm of more than 250 attorneys nationwide. Our Employment Practices Group partners with employers across a broad range of industries, handling complex employment disputes, labor matters, workplace investigations, and high-exposure wage and hour litigation. The ideal candidate will possess strong litigation, advocacy, and client-management skills, with experience independently managing sophisticated employment matters through all phases of litigation. Responsibilities Independently manage all phases of employment litigation from inception through resolution Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation-related filings Conduct and defend depositions and participate in mediations, settlement negotiations, and other dispute resolution proceedings Attend and advocate at court appearances, hearings, arbitrations, administrative proceedings, and trials Handle matters involving employment discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour disputes, PAGA claims, and other employment-related matters Represent employers in investigations and proceedings before federal, state, and local agencies Advise and counsel employers on workplace issues, employment law compliance, personnel matters, and risk management strategies Manage discovery, motion practice, investigations, and case deadlines in both state and federal courts Communicate directly with clients, provide strategic guidance, and maintain strong client relationships Collaborate with attorneys across offices and practice groups to develop litigation strategies and achieve favorable outcomes Qualifications Admission to practice in California required Minimum of 5 years of employment litigation experience Experience handling employment litigation matters in both state and federal courts Demonstrated experience drafting and arguing motions, conducting depositions, and managing complex litigation matters Excellent legal writing, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills Ability to independently manage an active caseload and prioritize competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail and commitment to exceptional client service Preferred Experience Employment discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination litigation Wage and hour litigation, including collective actions, class actions, and PAGA matters Traditional labor law matters and labor-management relations Investigations before the U.S. Department of Labor, California Department of Industrial Relations, California Division of Labor Standards Enforcement, EEOC, and state and local human rights agencies Experience appearing before the National Labor Relations Board in matters involving union organizing, collective bargaining, unfair labor practices, representation proceedings, and labor arbitrations Why Join Kaufman Dolowich?
