Serra High School in San Mateo is seeking a Costume Designer for their fall production. REQUIREMENTS: Degree in theater, art, design, or similar preferred Experience with dramatic productions, especially those with children CA teaching credential preferred but not required JOB DESCRIPTION: Demonstrate the ability to teach, enforce, advocate, and model appropriate behavior, character traits, Christian and educational values to students involved in the production Costumes should reinforce the mood and style of the production Costume designer should be able to build, buy, revamp, or rent costumes at the discretion of the director's vision and thoughts Designer should be able to collaborate with the set, lighting and makeup designers for a cohesive look Responsible to create a costume plot Must stick to deadlines agreed upon with the director, production manager and artistic director Costume designer is responsible for all items rented or made and must be returned to the appropriate location at the close of the production Costume designer is required to attend all tech, dress and performances, no exceptions Act as the backstage sewer during performances for rips or tears that need emergency repair Create preliminary designs, final designs with color and fabrics included Must be willing and able to work with parent volunteers and delegate projects to them Must be willing and able to teach and utilize student volunteers/costume assistants NECESSARY SKILLS: Must be able to sew and build costumes, draw costume designs Four references or at least 2 letters of recommendation All employees of the Archdiocese of San Francisco shall be employed without regard to race, color, sex, ethnic or national origin and pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, will consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal history. #J-18808-Ljbffr JUNIPERO SERRA HIGH SCHOOL
